The Hebrew name "Yehoshua" and its short version "Yeshua" were both translated by the Jews into Greek as "Ιησους" (Iesous). From this the English JESUS is derived. This means concretely that the Jews themselves have translated the name "Jesus" from Hebrew into Greek. It was not a Christian invention, as some wrongly claim.
